10/31 Event Recap: Mental Toughness 心理韧性
On Thursday, October 31st, Gemini Personnel successfully held the 14th HR Executive Roundtable. The event was organized in collaboration with AllBright Law Firm at their Lujiazui office executive meeting room located in Shanghai’s and China’s tallest building, the 632-meter Shanghai Tower. Over 20 HR executives and service providers gathered to join the presentation on the topic “Mental Toughness – reshaping inner control and enhancing resilience”, delivered by Jessie Zhang.
10月31日星期四,晶雅人事成功举办了第14届人力资源高管圆桌会议。此次活动与锦天城律师事务所合作,在上海中心大厦的陆家嘴办公室行政会议室举办。超过20位人力资源高管和服务提供商聚集在此,参加了由Jessie Zhang主讲的 “心理韧性——重塑内在控制力和增强韧性” 主题演讲。
Jessie is the founder and CEO of TalentPole Consulting, she is the global partner of MTQ Mental Toughness. Jessie introduced MTQ assessment and related course series from UK since 2019, dedicated to promoting MTQ mental toughness in Greater China. So far, MTQ's workshops has accumulated nearly 300 days of delivery and practice.

Before sharing mental toughness, Jessie inspired everyone to think about what traits leaders requested more in this unprecedented era of adversity? After active discussions, the most frequently mentioned traits are related to mindset and thinking patterns, and MTQ mental toughness is a personality trait that determines how people effectively deal with challenges, stressors, and changes in various situations, which is the underlying thinking pattern.
在正式分享之前,Jessie先引发大家的思考“在这个前所未有的逆流时代”里领导者更需要的特质是什么?在大家积极的讨论中,最被经常提到的特质都和心态以及思维方式有关,而MTQ心理韧性是决定人如何有效应对各种情境下的挑战、应激源和压力的人格特质,也就是底层的思维模式。
Then Jessie shared how to scientifically and effectively measure a person's mental toughness by using the 4C model. Through the detailed introduction of the 8 components of the 4C model, everyone learned a complete model that effectively measures internal response patterns, which helps a lot to improve self-awareness. Personality traits are very complex, and each person has some dimensions that are mentally tough, while there are also some dimensions that are mentally sensitive. There is no good or bad score in the assessment of mental toughness. Being aware of existing resilience advantages, any dimension that can help us to become the best version of ourselves.
接着Jessie分享了如何科学有效觉察和衡量一个人的心理韧性的4C模型,通过4C模型8个分量的详细介绍,大家学习到一个很完整的模型有效衡量内在的反应模式,高度提升自我觉察力。人格特质是非常复杂的,每个人都有几个维度是偏心理韧性,同时有几个维度是偏心理敏感的,心理韧性的测评得分没有好坏之分,觉察已有的韧性优势,任何一个维度发挥极致都可以让我们成为最好的自己。
Mental Toughness includes two important factors: resilience and positivity; Resilience is the ability to respond to and cope with challenges, which helps us survive; Positivity is the ability to see and seize opportunities, which helps us thrive; So the slogan of mental toughness is from Survive to Thrive!
心理韧性包含了两个重要的因素:复原力和积极性;复原力是应对和处理挑战的能力,它帮助我们生存;积极性是发现和把握机会的能力,它帮助我们绽放;所以心理韧性的slogan就是from survive to thrive; 从生存到绽放!
Finally, Jessie shared two comprehensive methods to enhance mental toughness:
1. From a False Finder to a Benefit Finder, shifting from a "come to me" to a "come for me" mindset, to help us see the gifts and values behind challenges and pressures. Effectively helping us transition from instinctive fighting, flying away, and freezing to accepting, seeing new values, and advancing meaning.
2. Through the deconstruction of the "meaning framing method", it can more effectively help us transform from a false finder to a benefit finder, truly achieving the transformation and advancing of value.
最后Jessie分享了两个综合提升心理韧性的方法:
1,从受害者心态到受益者心态转变,通过“冲我而来”的心态转变到“为我而来”,从而可以看到挑战,压力背后带来的礼物和价值。有效帮助我们从本能的对抗,逃避和僵住,转化到接纳,看到新价值,在升华意义。
2,通过“意义换框法”的拆解,更有效帮助我们从受害者心态转变到受益者心态,真正做到价值的转化和升华。
Following the presentation, the executives in the human resources industry had a roundtable experience-sharing session. They shared their mental toughness stories and experiences from their corporate and personal environments. While the majority of companies do not focus on incorporating mental toughness into their staff policies some examples discussed included key performance indicators (KPIs), incentive programs, flexible work arrangements, and open communication channels. Other ways mental toughness and resilience can be incorporated into the HR department’s policy include recognition and rewards, well-being programs, employee assistance programs, or a buddy system for new hires. In current challenging economic times, mental toughness and resilience are key attributes that enable those who can master them to succeed.
演讲结束后,人力资源行业的高管们进行了圆桌经验分享会。他们分享了在企业及个人环境中关于心理韧性的故事和经历。尽管大多数公司并未专注于将心理韧性融入员工政策,但讨论中提到的一些例子包括关键绩效指标(KPIs)、激励计划、灵活的工作安排和开放的沟通渠道。将心理韧性和韧性纳入人力资源部门政策的其他方式包括表彰和奖励、福利计划、员工援助计划或新员工的伙伴制度。在当前充满挑战的经济时期,心理韧性和韧性是一个关键属性,它使那些能够掌握它的人能够取得成功。
