3/27 Event Recap: Become a Global HR Leader 成就国际顶尖HR高管之路

On Thursday, March 27th, Gemini Personnel successfully held the 17th and the first online version of the HR Executive Roundtable. More than 20 HR executives gathered online to join the presentation and discussion on the topic “ How to Become a World Class International HR Executive? ”, delivered by Trevor Smith.

3月27日星期四,晶雅人事成功举办了第17届人力资源高管圆桌会议,这也是首次线上形式的会议。超过20位人力资源高管通过线上方式参与了关于 “ 如何成为世界级国际人力资源高管?” 的主题演讲和讨论,演讲由Trevor Smith主讲。

Trevor Smith is a Board director and founder of The Orchard Partnership.com. He has 3,800 professional coaching hours accumulated across all industries and is accredited by both the ICF and EMCC at higher level. He and his team travel regularly for projects across greater China and Asia.

During the key note presentation Trevor outlined his top 8 tips to become a world class international HR executive by adding value to your organization:

1. Be the stand-out expert in your topic – Be the master of all things HR related so that you’re the go-to expert in your company

2. Step up as a leader – HR professionals have an opportunity to lead change, especially as the workforce adapts to AI and other developments

3. Operate as a key member of the executive team – Without HR the exec team cannot function as a top performing team. Have confidence when working with other executives.

4. Fully understand the industry you work in – Invest time in learning the products & services your organisation offers, and why customers buy them. This will enable to offer relevant HR advice and solutions to your internal business partners

5. Adopt a growth mindset – See every situation as an opportunity

6. Understand different cultures and adapt – Within international companies there are a wide range of cultures represented. Knowing more will help you to adjust your style to get the best out of others

7. Collaborate both internally and externally – Be willing to assert yourself for win-win outcomes

8. Learn how to influence and persuade – Unless your products and services are sold, your organisation will not exist. Understanding basic principles of influence and persuasion will springboard your career

Following the presentation, the executives in the human resources industry broke into groups to discuss 5 discussion questions including key challenges facing HR teams today such as transitioning out staff and attracting the right talents. Several executives shared their career growth paths that included important decisions, valuable experiences, and strong mentors that helped them grow. One experienced executive shared her continuous improvement strategy of taking industry-related courses such as on labor law, that while at that time of her employment were not helpful, they proved essential later in her career and opened future opportunities. Ultimately it is the growth mindset, knowing your business, and understanding pain points that will enable individuals to help the business and be an integral part of the team.

演讲结束后,人力资源行业的高管们分组讨论了5个问题,包括当今人力资源团队面临的主要挑战,如员工离职和吸引合适的人才。几位高管分享了他们的成长历程,包括重要的决策、宝贵的经验以及帮助他们成长的强有力的导师。一位经验丰富的高管分享了她持续改进的策略,比如参加与劳动法相关的行业课程,虽然在她当时的工作中这些课程并没有帮助,但后来在她的职业生涯中却变得至关重要,并为她打开了未来的机会。最终,是成长型思维、了解你的业务以及理解痛点,将使个人能够助力企业并成为团队不可或缺的一部分。
