Facebook is one of the reference checks for your potential employers

A survey from Microsoft found that 79% of employers use social networking sites (Facebook/Twitter) before making the final decision on hiring a candidate. A candidate’s social media profile will be checked by potential employers when it comes to assessing their suitability for jobs and his/her personality.

Here are some tips before starting the job application process:

PhotosChange your settings for personal photos (jokes, partying, inappropriate facial expressions, etc.) to private. Make sure that you use a decent profile picture that you are willing to show your potential boss.

PostsBe aware that there can be sensitive posts, like political statements, jokes, ironic quotes, etc., on your profile. If this is case, change your settings to “Friends only”.
