What is the Chinese 'Five Star Card'?
The official name of the permanent residence identity card of foreigners in the People's Republic of China is now called "Five Star Card". It is a legal identity card issued by the State Migration Administration to eligible foreigners after they have approved their permanent residence in China.
What is the difference between the Five Star Card and the Foreigner's Permanent Residence Permit?

The main purpose of holding a "Chinese Five Star Card" is:
Foreigners holding the "Five Star Card" enjoy the same rights and assume the same obligations as Chinese citizens in principle, except for political rights and specific rights and obligations stipulated by laws and regulations. Specifically, it includes:
1. Free entry and exit of the Chinese border: Holders can freely enter and exit China with a valid passport and a "Five Star Card" without the need for visas or residence permits.
2. Free employment: Working within China does not require a work visa or work permit, and can be directly employed.
3. Enjoy social security: You can participate in social insurance and enjoy insurance benefits such as medical care, pension, work-related injury, unemployment, and maternity.

1. Direct investment in China: Stable investment situation and good tax record for three consecutive years.
2. Holding executive or senior professional titles: holding positions such as deputy general manager or deputy factory director in China, or holding deputy senior professional titles such as associate professor or associate researcher, and having served continuously for at least four years, with a cumulative residence in China of no less than three years within the four years and a good tax record.
3. Individuals who have made significant and outstanding contributions to China and are in special need of the country.
4. Family reunion:
Spouse: the spouse of a Chinese citizen or a foreigner who has obtained permanent residence status in China, who has been married for five years, has continuously resided in China for five years, and has resided in China for no less than nine months each year, and has a stable life security and residence.
Children: Unmarried children under the age of 18 who seek refuge with their parents.
Seeking refuge with immediate family members: those who have no immediate family members overseas, seek refuge with immediate family members within the country, are over 60 years old, have resided in China continuously for at least five years, reside in China for no less than nine months per year, and have stable living security and residence.
5. Other personnel who meet specific conditions, such as foreign Chinese PhDs, foreign nationals working in specific areas, etc.

申请“中国五星卡”的条件
根据相关法规,申请“中国五星卡”需满足以下条件之一:
1.在中国直接投资:连续三年投资情况稳定且纳税记录良好。
2.担任高管或高级职称职务:在中国担任副总经理、副厂长等职务以上,或具有副教授、副研究员等副高级职称以上,已连续任职满四年、四年内在中国居留累计不少于三年且纳税记录良好。
3.对中国有重大、突出贡献:对中国有重大、突出贡献以及国家特别需要的人员。
4.家庭团聚:
配偶:与中国公民或者在中国获得永久居留资格的外国人的配偶,婚姻关系存续满五年、已在中国连续居留满五年、每年在中国居留不少于九个月且有稳定生活保障和住所的。
子女:未满18周岁未婚子女投靠父母的。
投靠直系亲属:在境外无直系亲属,投靠境内直系亲属,且年满60周岁、已在中国连续居留满五年、每年在中国居留不少于九个月并有稳定生活保障和住所的。
5.其他符合特定条件的人员:如外籍华人博士、在特定区域工作的外籍人士等。
